I am passionate about the conservation of old buildings. They don’t have to be Listed either to get my interest. I’d much rather rebuild, repair or make a new set of windows than see those beautiful old windows be replaced by some ghastly uPVC plastic monstrosity or some of those modern brown looking wooden windows. Looked after properly a good set of wooden windows will last 100 years which is more than can be said for uPVC.

The same can be said for doors and any other wooden features of an older property. Many can be repaired or replaced using the same techniques as those handed down from generation to generation.
