So how do you go about commissioning a piece of bespoke furniture?

Well, most of my clients start off by sending me by post or email a simple sketch of what it is they have in mind, together with some photos off the internet to give me an idea of the style they are looking for.

This is usually enough for me give a very rough idea of costs.

The next step is either for us to talk further on the telephone or for me to visit you at your home so we can explore things further. I can usually rough out a design on paper with you there and then. All this is completely free of charge without obligation. Unlike many cabinet makers, I do not make any charge for design work.

Once a design and price has been agreed, an order form is completed.

My terms of business are;

25% deposit with order to secure a production slot

25% payment at time of final measure up before manufacturing starts

50% balance on completion

An approximate completion date will be agreed at the time of ordering but this is subject to  change if unforeseen events occur. Handmade furniture cannot be rushed and I refuse to compromise quality in order to meet a completion date.
